’Come Out’ and party on October 3QVegasThursday Sep 24, 2009 The Eighth Annual National Coming Out Day Street Festival, founded by QVegas magazine in honor of Human Rights Campaign’s Coming Out Project, will take place Saturday, October 3. The location once again this year is Commercial Center (953 E. Sahara Ave.) in front of The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, which co-sponsors the event. Rockstar Energy Drink is the presenting sponsor of this year’s festivities.
National Coming Out day is October 11, 2009.
The NCOD Main Stage, as always, will be full of exciting entertainment from local drag queens to live vocalists as well as special out-of-town acts such as Chico’s Angels and Cassidy Haley. Popular Spanish actress and singer Charo is expected to make a special appearance, as is Britney impersonator Derrick Barry. The following organizations, as of press time, will have tents at the festival: Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), Betty’s Outrageous Adventures, Community Counseling Center, Golden Rainbow, Finding Our Clients Useful Solutions (FOCUS), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Nevada Association of Latin Americans Inc. (NALA), Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada and Stonewall Democrats.
Sponsors of the NCOD Street Festival are PDQ Printing (diamond); Wells Fargo and Findlay Cadillac (platinum); and Mix 94.1, SinCityQSocials, Manhunt.net and Studio OUT (media).
